after a visit to the doctor today (lila’s elbow is unfortunately prone to dislocating quite easily), we went for a little treat to celebrate her bravery 🙂

(as bittersweet as her growing older is, i am really looking forward to her outgrowing this tendency — it’s so hard on my heart to see her in pain. it’s not something i talk about often, but i am so very grateful to have two healthy children — i can’t even begin to imagine how difficult the alternative would be…)

given the opportunity, i’m fairly certain she would wear her “glasses” and a side braid 24/7.

also, she is looking particularly big to me the last couple weeks — how is it that she going to be four soon??? i’m not quite sure my heart can handle this whole growing up thing… sigh.

totally an outtake, but way too funny not to share. what you see here is lila’s reaction upon noticing that cole was about to play with one of her toys. i think she may have been in a bit of a hurry to intervene 😉
