(side note: those floors were just mopped. if anyone has any special tips for getting hardwood to look nice and not all ‘filmy’, they’d be much appreciated!)
Nina-I adore the light on these. 🙂 Have you tried the Method brand hardwood floor cleaner? I think it’s called squirt and mop. I love their products.ReplyCancel
Kylie -I’ve also heard vinegar cleans well. I love your photos of your family. So inspiring. Where did you get those cara he’s playing with? I think my little boy would love them.ReplyCancel

Brie-Omg, I love the “choo-choo” lips he is making, so adorable!
As for hardwood, I love my steam-mop! No residue and you aren’t using any chemicals (“safe” or otherwise) which your little ones (or fur-babies in my case), will be crawling (and licking) all over! 😉ReplyCancel
Erin-I use Method as well and love it but with barefeet there is no winning with hardwood, I’m afraid.ReplyCancel

Carolyn -Ive used the hardwood cleaner, mop and bucket, but truely find the best is the steam mop, put a bit of vinegar in the water mix that you fill it with. That seems to work the best.ReplyCancel

Yvonne -I feel your frustration! I have dark hardwood floors and have the exact same issue. After asking friends and fam to weigh in on FB, we bought a steam mop on their recommendations. Well…. I have since sold it! A friend of mine swears by Norwex. . .and I eventually got one. I agree with Laurie! Try it out! Not perfect but better than any of the other methods I’ve tried. (Well, except for ol’ fashioned hands and knees with a bucket and rag but really, who has time for that!!??)ReplyCancel

Patrina -I think the “film” is from your product. Dilute it down a whole bunch, or just use a little vinegar and water. I don’t think it’s the tool you’re using (mop), but the product that’s going on the floor.ReplyCancel

Joanne -I totally hear you with the floors..I’m on an endless hunt for the best hardwood cleaner as well and I have tried every option mentioned above besides Norwex which I might have to give a go now! So far the best cleaner I’ve found and continue to use is made by Bona and you can find it at Home Outfitters stores…it doesn’t leave as much residue and I find my floors look better for longer I would say… its’ still no “miracle cure” by any means…I think this is the one major downside to dark hardwood. They are beautiful but definitely high maintenance. If you do find something you think works well let me know I’m always up for trying another option! 🙂ReplyCancel

allana-Norwex Mop and a solution I found on pinterest.. Vinegar, Water, and rubbing alcohol and then a couple drops of scented oil so the whole house doesnt smell like vinegar. Put in a spray bottle and squirt/mop. I find that we still get a few puppy tracks, so I imagine little bare feet would be the same, but at least with the norwex mop it’s super quick!ReplyCancel
